Looks almost like a cricket during some stage of development. About 1.5 inches long. Dark brown and greyish-black. Claw-like front legs.

Habitat:

East Texas

Notes:

Makes a buzzing/screaching noise. moved very fast.

This cool critter is a Mole Cricket, Family Gryllotalpidae. I am not sure of the species in your area at this time but here is a link that you can follow that may help you determine the species. They are pretty neat!
