Sorry for the typos green. That is why I said it "may" mark the end of the 17 year life spam of a creature. I provided the link to give some education about the recent boom in cicadas in hopes this user would gain more information about a spotting little known to them. Thank you so much for your commentary. It forced me to be more specific.

Mauna is right. This is without a doubt the exoskeleton of a Cicada. There have been literally millions in your area this year. Here an article from earlier in the year about this wonderful phenomenon. Your exoskeleton may mark themed of a creatures interesting and 17 year life; http://www.newsobserver.com/2013/04/12/2...
