Cnemidophorus gularis

Description:

Tan brown or green-brown in color, with a pattern of seven distinct grey or white stripes that run the length of the body, and stop at the tail, with light colored spots along the sides. Underside white. Males often have a red colored throat, blue belly, and black or blue patches on their chest, while females have only a pink colored throat. Their tail 3 times body length. Dimensions 16.5-27.9cm (6 1/2-11")

Habitat:

Xeric portion of wildlife habitat yard.

Notes:

This was a fairly long lizard, somewhere around 9 or 10 inches. It darted across the ground, then stopped to look back at me. It stayed there watching me until I moved to see if I could get a different angle. As soon as I moved, it vanished.
