Small fat spider with zigzag markings on back. Brown and tan in color
Found in my garage while cleaning
Moved your spotting to the Arthropod group :-)
You might find this link helpful...it is geared toward Illinois. The middle section are the cobweb spiders. http://www.idph.state.il.us/envhealth/pc...
Research on cobweb spiders and Illinois and I bet you will find your exact match.
Only the black widow (which is part of this overall collection of spider) is poisonous. This one would be pretty harmless. Beautiful spider actually.
OK, with further examination and research, I have changed my mind. I think it's a type of cobweb spider.
Are they poisonous?
Looks like a type of orb weaver. There are many types but most are very round like this.
