Garter snakes are very thin snakes. None grow over about 4 feet long and most stay smaller. Most have longitudinal stripes in many different colors. Garters come in a wide range of colors including: green, blue, yellow, gold, red, orange, brown, and black

Habitat:

The garter snake is a colubrid snake genus common across North America, ranging from the Alaskan Panhandle to Central America. It is the single most widely distributed genus of reptiles in North America.

Notes:

Saw this outside my house last night in the bushes. The one on the pavement I saw at the school I teach at today.
