Red-footed Cannibalfly

Promachus rufipes

Description:

Bee-mimicking Robberfly, about an inch long.

Habitat:

Perched on rock on the shoreline of a small trout stream.

Notes:

Not a big fan of bees, and I know that robber flies can sting so I was very cautious around this guy.

They do not sting, they can bite but this is very rare and not much cause for concern.
