Dark eyed junco

Junco hyemalis

Description:

I am assuming that these dark eyed juncos are going through a seasonal molt. Sometimes when this happens, every feather except the white pat of the tail is lost!! I was quite surprised to see these in a white tail and for a minute I thought that they were leuscistic!!

Habitat:

Markham nature reserve
