Ameiva (Holcosus) festiva

Description:

A mid-sized lizard, olive or brown with a conspicuous yellow, whitish, or bluish stripe down center of back; yellow,white or bluish dashes or dots along the sides; youngsters with bluish tail; to 12 cm (5 in), plus tail.

Habitat:

National Park Arenal Volcano.

Many thanks, Dan and Christos! Apparently the juveniles have this colorful tail and later the color fades :-)
