Phoenicurus ochruros

Description:

Alert bird with light brown back and belly tinged with yellowish-orange. Short, straight bill.

Habitat:

Foraging on a strip of land cleared for farming in the huge area adjoining the Himalayan high altitude Hemis monastery. It hopped away as I approached.

LennyWorthington...Thanks so much. I can't believe it but I saw three species of Redstarts in my short trip to Ladakh, India. Thanks, so much for taking the trouble to put a name to the sighting.
