That is a beautiful Water Salamander. Hope it came out fine after the ordeal!! Did you place it back in the water?
It inhabits fast water with rocky bottoms. Has external gills and lives life underwater
It still has gills, I wonder if it's the larva of a salamander, or a species that lives under water it's whole life?
