A leaf mimic member of grasshoppers, blends right in with the surrounding grasses seen in the third picture. When approached it hopped away, only a short distance, apparently depending on its camouflage. The hiding work well for us, we were determined to get the close up. Great picture of her ovipositer.
Grassy lawn, well trimmed.
