Austroargiolestes calcaris

Description:

A dark shiny damsel fly about 60mm long with some pale markings on the thorax. The abdomen was dark metallic black, legs black. Pale cream pterostigma.

Habitat:

On a medium sized eucalyptus trunk next to a large lake in a nature reserve.

Notes:

?A calcaris has black eyes mostly on Googimages... ?Austroargiolestes icteromelas Reiner's one has white pterostigma ?? whereas our field guide has black. http://photos.rnr.id.au/2012/11/30/damse...
