Labrador Tea

Description:

The Labrador Tea is one of the taller heaths, and its thick leaves with the dense brown woolly coating beneath are wholly unlike the leaves of any other mountain plant. The erect white flowers with almost separate petals may be seen in the early summer. As the scientific name implies, the Labrador tea is native to Greenland as well as to the North American continent. Its leaves have from time to time been used as a substitute for tea (Bog-tea).
