nickname for small shorebirds are "peeps" because of the sound and size. Not likely chicks. Too late in the year. Yellow legs suggest Least but need confirmation

jellis,they were hanging around with kildeers and making squeaky peeps. Therefore i thought these were kildeer chicks, In terms of size ,look very tiny compared to kildeers, My kildeer spotting shows both together,
