Athyma ranga
The adults have a swift and skittish flight with rapid wing beats alternating with spurts of smooth gliding. They are powerful fliers, but usually only cover short distances, settling periodically on the ground or on low herbage.
This species is found in forested areas at elevations between about 500-2000m. Sikkim; Bhutan; hills of Assam, Burma and found also in southern India, Western Ghats and the Nilgiris.
Olea dioica and Linociera malabarica are the host plants of the caterpillar.
