California ground squirrel (with northern elephant seal)

Description:

•They live in burrows that they excavate themselves. •They hibernate for several months, but in places with no snow, they can be active all the year. •They eat seeds, insects and various fruits.

Habitat:

Western United States and the Baja California Peninsula -I saw these squirrels in California.
