Description:

Fairly common beetle in the family Caribidae (ground beetles).

Habitat:

Range TX-GA-ME-NE, adj. Can., but absent from the Gulf Coast area. Habitat: Dirt paths in grassy areas, but seldom far from the woods; often hunting along sidewalks/roads and on large lying logs

Notes:

They don't always have six spots, sometimes they have no spots! They are predatory on other insects and they move very fast.
