Sugar maple

Acer Saccharum

Description:

This particular tree means a lot to me personally because everyday that I wake up and stumble to class half asleep, I make my way past this tree and it reminds me of the greater world that I am a part of. Often times I find myself caught up in the routine of everyday education and this tree really humbles me with its sheer size and beauty. JC

Habitat:

Found in forests throughout North America, the Sugar Maple is a staple in our ecosystem. This particular one is located directly in front of Johnson hall on the Phillips Academy campus.

Notes:

If you are a fan of maple syrup and pretty fall colors, you are a sugar maple fan!
