Naso lituratus
The Unicorn fishes are from the Nasanae subfamily, they have fixed bony keels that are razor sharp. The body is of oblong shape with deep compressed body, and eye set high on the head. It has orange lips, a graceful curve of yellow from eye to mouth, and orange spines. It is a hornless Unicornfish. This particular large male as most large males have tail streamers.
Common in shallow water, it feeds on leafy seaweeds, sometimes in schools.
I was most attracted about this fish for its unique tail with keels and streamers. It colors were interesting as it seems to be wearing lipstick and a hawaiian Lei around the eyes all the way to the mouth.
