If you are still unable to edit, try unchecking the box which you ticked when you asked for ID help. Usually when that box is ticked, the box for scientific name becomes grey.
Let me know if the tip worked.

Hi mhatremitesh,
I see that Ranger SukanyaDatta has been in touch with you. May I suggest that you answer her question about where you saw this bird and she might be in a position to advise you about editing.
Hi John B.
Thanks for the appreciation and scientific name,
Unfortunately not able to edit Scientific Name as the field is greyed out.
Hi mhatremitesh,
What a very beautiful picture of a Black-winged Stilt and a great first spotting in Project Noah. I think that because you know the Common Name, you probably also know the Scientific Name, but I have sent you a Species ID Suggestion, just to make sure. If you click on the edit button (under your picture), you will be able to put the Scientific Name in the appropriate box.
