Xysticus crab spider

Xysticus robustus

Description:

Xysticus robustus is a ground crab spider . Females with dark and/or bright spots. Sternum black-brown. Chelicerae spined frontally. Legs with velvety surface, black-brown with dark red to wine-red tinge, brighter on tibia, dorsally darker than on other sides. Legs partly with white longitudinal line or bright spots. Opisthosoma unicoloured black-brown to slightly reddish dark brown with small yellow and black spots, with 5 sigilla. The pictured female was resting on a wall, in Tsagarada village, Pelion mountain, Greece.
