Pitcher Plant

Nepenthes benstonei

Description:

Long, deep green waxy leaves ending in pitcher-shaped appendages. Like most other carnivorous plants, Pitchers do not get adequate nutrients from their soil alone, so they lure and digest anything that falls into their pitchers. The pitchers contain a sweet-smelling nectar that works to digest the unfortunate animal that falls in.

Habitat:

Peninsular Malaysia; tropical
