Red-femured Milkweed Borer

Tetraopes femoratus

Description:

Rose to red beatle, approx 1/2 inch long. Black and white antennae, reddish legs, black markings.

Habitat:

On milkweed and a seedling Hackberry tree growing in a garden bed.

Notes:

I haven't seen these before although the milkweed had been here for several years.
