Rest in peace ,dear bee. I am not sure what happened to it. It has been cold for the last few days and maybe that was a contributing factor for it's passing away.I found it on the ground. Surprisingly it was not eaten up by lizards or spiders.

This is my prior sighting. What was unusual was that there was a pair of carpenter bees hovering over it and protecting it.They stayed till it actually took off!

Thanks ,Jordi. These are such gentle creatures. I was outside taking a walk in the back yard. This bee fell down from the apple tree where i have seen them nest. It was newly eclosed and pumping itself.True to the fact,it did crawl and follow me. i moved it to a place which i thought would be safe. It was going to spend some time on the ground till it pumped itself up. It was a cold day and i am afraid that it was not as lucky as the previous two newborns.I sa it on the ground the second day. I hope that the lizard did not devour it. That will remain a mystery since i did not actually see it take off. The black ones are females and they do bite.
