Description:

This is Singapore holly--a free-flowering shrub--belonging to the Malpighiaceae family. Common names include Dwarf holly and Miniature holly. This plant, which is naturally distributed from the West Indies, can grow to about 1 meter in length. Flowers are five-petaled with colors ranging from pink to lilac. Fruits are simple and fleshy.

Habitat:

Species was seen in Tupi, South Cotabato, Philippines, where the climate is tropical and mild, and generally humid during the wet season.

This plant was spotted in a residential area.
