Wood Frog

Lithobates sylvaticus

Description:

These frogs are usually brown, tan, or rust colored with a dark eye mask and yellowish underbellies. Wood frog tadpoles feed on algae, eggs, or larvae. Once Wood frogs become older they begin to eat a variety of forest floor invertebrates.

Habitat:

Wood Frog's live in the forest and breed in freshwater wetlands, usually vernal pools. The Adult frogs spend their summers in woodlands, swamps, bogs, or ravines.
