A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Bugs are hard to identify, in part because there are so many of them. Many species you would have to take a "key" to figure it out (basically saying does it have trait A6 if so go to B9, if not, continue to A7)(eventually it leads to a specie name). Also, if your insect is not super charismatic, already easy to identify, or a pest, then don't expect much help from the web.

Must be a dragonfly, since the wings always seemed to be straight out at the sides.
Aren't cooperative insects great!
Damsels fold their wings back when they are perched. Did it do that? Otherwise it's a dragonfly.
