Description:

A solitary, fan-leaved palm with a slender, dark grey trunk, leaves are fan-shaped, appearing circular but are actually composed of numerous wedge-shaped segments to 2 m across. The long petiole is spiny at the base. Fruit orange-red about 1 cm diameter.

Habitat:

Tropical rain forest.
