Bicolored Blackbird

Description:

Rare form of Red-winged Blackbird..... supposed to occur only in central California.... so what is it doing up in southwest Oregon? I guess getting ready to nest with mate!

Habitat:

Small marshy area near small pond.

Notes:

Shot as many photos of this rare opportunity as I could.

I recognize that Red-winged Blackbirds are not at all rare. What I meant was that the Bicolor form of this species hasn't been known to be present in the area of Sutherlin, Oregon.

This particular color morph is rare. Red-winged Blackbirds are not all that rare.

I did not know Red wing blackbirds r rare. At the millpond where I live in Or there r hundreds of them.
