Alpinia

Alpinia sp.

Description:

Pink "flower" (actually bracts, except for the flower at the apex). Leaves similar to Heliconia and banana plants, being part of the same order.

Habitat:

Tropical rainforest; cultivated near a hotel.

Notes:

Part of the genus Alpinia, but I'm at a loss for the species. The third picture shows a small lizard that was darting around the plants.
