Wait-a-while

Calamus muelleri

Description:

A spike covered palm that also produces spiked tendrils that help it climb up towards the light in crowded rain forests. Note the thin tendril hanging straight down from the upper left-hand corner. These are bits that snag you.

Habitat:

Tropical rain forest.

Notes:

Named for its tendency to grab you as you walk by, and then having to wait a while as you carefully de-tangle yourself..
