Andean Fox

Lycalopex culpaeus

Notes:

I spotted this Andean Fox while hiking slightly above the hiker's refuge on Cotopaxi Volcano, one of the highest altitude active volcanos in the world. The refuge is at 4800m above sea level.

Yes Juan Ecuador was one of my favorite places that I've visited!! So many amazing things to see.

I appreciate people who visit my country, it is a perfect place to spot wildlife.

Thanks! Yes he was the only creature I saw at that altitude...I think he was hanging around and hoping to snatch some food from the garbage bin at the hiker's refuge
