This bird was soaring above my house with black kites.
Got that - we (my mentor and I) still think it's a Goshawk. On that second pic, you can easily see they are on different heights/altitudes, which can false the impression of size. Anyway, if you have any more information or pictures, looking forward to them.
Thank you Zlatan. I have uploaded some more pics. In one pic this bird is soaring with black kite. This bird is comparatively smaller than black kite. Hence makes me wonder about identifying it as Northern Goshawk.
I just sent this to my mentor, he is confirming the genus, and is proposing even the species - Accipiter gentilis or Northern Goshawk (check more here https://www.oiseaux.net/birds/northern.g...).
And thanks Srdjan Cuturilov for help in IDying thsi bird.
Tough one, without any other pic to help - however, by the silhouette (short-winged and long-tailed) I think you could narrow it down to Accipiter genus (Saprrowhawks, Goshawks). there are seven species occurring in India. Here, you have yellow legs, four black barres on the tail, finely barred edges of wings but the breast is not barred - it's spotted, this seems like irregular blackish spots - so I was thinking about a juvenile...
