Dark purple
Front yard
Feel free to add it to Midwestern Gardens mission. Even though we don't put it there on purpose I find that it always finds its way into my gardens. I pull out some but always leave some and let it grow.

This stuff loves my yard...we have it come up every spring. It is pretty when you really look at it.
I used to hear it called that, too. Another mint relative is Prunella, which is called "heal-all". Is there some implied difference between those two common names?
I think that's Self-heal? I have never heard it called Purple Dead Nettle though, so, now I am starting to doubt myself.
Gooddiehl is right, purple dead nettle is in the mint family. It's native to Europe and Asia, but has become invasive in North America. It's a pretty plant, especially when you take a close look at the flowers, but it would be even pretty in its native range.
I forgot what the name of this plant is but I can tell you that it is in the mint family.
