A big Mite, 2 mm, compared to most mites. Very colorful, free-living and fast. Probably predatory. Family Trombidiidae or a related family. The group is often in fluctuation for classification.
On a wall under a light, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
The adults of this group are usually predacious, where as early instars are parasitic on other insects and occasionally spiders.
