Hippopotamus amphibius
Smooth, purple-brown skin lightening to pink in creases and on underparts. Their naked skin is sensitive and looses water rapidly and must be protected from the sun. Hippos secrete through pores in their skin a viscous fluid, pigmented red, that seems to at as an antibiotic and sunblock rolled into one. Feet have 4 webbed toes.
