Good call Justin! I'm gonna change my suggesion to dewberries! I checked & you are right! Blackberries don't ripen in Louisana until May/June! Thanks!

Dewberries...a relative of blackberries. They grow on vines rather than bushes and become ripe much earlier than blackberries.
