This is one of the craneflies. There are lots of these guys, however, so it may be very difficult to narrow it down more. Try this page as a start: http://bugguide.net/node/view/183/bgimag...

Good luck and let us know what you come up with. If you can't narrow it down much more use Cranefly as the common name and something like "Family: Tipulidae" for a scientific name.
