Moss

Description:

A micro moss growing on the upturned root structure of a massive tree. I can't tell if it is one organism or two. There is a small blanket moss and then a moss that is growing like stems about 1 inch in the air.

Habitat:

Red clay soil attached to the roots of an up rooted tree in Central Park, NYC.
