Sulawesi Lined Gliding Lizard

Draco spilonotus

Description:

Between 5-10cm long, was hard to tell at the distance. Patagiums where either yellow or orange depending on the male

Habitat:

Secondary Scrub, found on a tree on the side of a dirt track

Notes:

Over 9 months of visiting Tangkoko National Park I found 5 males display on a total of 3 trees adjacent to each other on one single day in July during the dry season. They were a few metres off of the ground when displaying. I did not spot the females. The males' patagiums were of various shades of yellow and orange.
