Spotting

Description:

Fine white closely knit web very close to the ground. The web seemed to extend down into the hole in the ground, perhaps the diameter of a pencil.

Habitat:

In Palo Duro Canyon, constructed in areas where the footing was soft, loose red sand and there was plenty of vegetation, dried grasses, ets. Some were not in good shape. They are not easy to see so get walked on by hikers. The undisturbed ones basically were the same: close knit web that leads down into a hole.
