This looks like a ruddy turnstone (Arenaria interpres). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruddy_Turns... for more information and see if you would agree with me. If you do, could you edit the sighting with the new info? Love the photograph. I ran into these guys on the Dry Tortugas a couple of years ago. One morning while eating breakfast, these birds gathered under my feet to pick up sesame seeds that I dropped. Amazing!
