White Ibis

Eudocimus albus

Habitat:

Marshy sloughs, mud flats, lagoons and swamp forests

Notes:

Out early in the wetlands one morning to catch the sunrise, I remembered the Ansel Adams quote: "when watching the sunrise or sunset, don't forget to turn around." When I turned around, I caught the moon setting and this White Ibis perched high in a dead tree.
