Common Ringtail Possum

Pseudocheirus peregrinus

Description:

Rare to see these guys out during the day. Not when your then cat chases it out of a hiding hole in the roof of a shed. Night shot same place and around ther same time of year. They would eat the leaves off the lemon tree at the back veranda.

Nice. My partner recently saw one near a rivulet by our house, but the ones that come to raid our recycling bins and eat the animal feed are the more common Brushtails. Apparently the Ringtails predominated when Europeans got to Tasmania, but land-clearing has favored the Brushtails.
