Brown Basilisk

Basiliscus vittatus

Description:

A large lizard with a crest on the head. Individuals are usually brown to olive, this guy was just a little greener than normal. They have a stripe running from the eyes to the thigh and another from the nose to the front leg. They run on their back legs and can run across water, giving them the name "jesus lizard".

Habitat:

Sleeping high in a tree in jungle near the ocean.
