Small black fly, about 3/4 inch in length. Red eyes and large feet. Chequered black & grey body.
Soaking up the sun on a west facing garden wall in Turkey. They feed on flowers bur are attracted to carrion and dung. The females give birth to live larvae instead of eggs and deposit them in the carrion and dung allowing them to feed and develop quickly.
