Looked this up in our insect book, its a Lackey ( Malacosoma neustria ).


The iphone camera isn't too bad, but near impossible to see what you're doing in bright sun, doesn't focus fast enough

Looks like the Eastern Tent Caterpillars we have in the United States. It might be in the same family, Arctiidae.

Wow, you shot those with an iPhone?! I think it's probably because the camera on my phone is so terrible that I'm astounded. This is a cute and colourful little guy, I like him :)
