Gorilla

Gorilla gorilla gorilla

Description:

Mature male (Silverback) Western Lowland gorilla, native to Africa.

Habitat:

Mainly forest but some found in more open woodland.

Notes:

Photographed in La Vallée des Singes in Romagné, Vienne, France - a must to visit if you're ever in the region and love animals. You can wander freely amongst non-threatening species such as lemurs whilst gorillas etc live on islands divided by waterways inhabited by wild fowl. Animals are fed several times a day and wild birds throng the grounds after the scraps.

Thanks dandoucette. Their website just calls them gorillas. I did find a reference to gorilla g. g. in a 2009 blog, so I presume the others are the same.
