Description:

Spotted in Niamey near the river Niger. Sand colour, brown and grey patterns, some neck spines, tan and black banding on the tail.

Habitat:

Sandy and hard-soiled areas. Will climb on trees.

Notes:

Went through a list of 15 species of agamas and narrowed it down to the mali agama. Distribution, description and existing (few) pictures match. Thanks again to dandoucette for directions!

Not sure of the species, but I think it's a type of agamid lizard. I'm not familiar with the agamids found in the Sahara.
