Ratufa indica
huge squirrel, 3' (1m) long including the tail. weight 4.4lbs (2kg) The Ratufa indica has a conspicuous two-toned (and sometimes three-toned) color scheme. The colors involved can be creamy-beige, buff, tan, rust, brown, or even a dark seal brown.The underparts and the front legs are usually cream colored, the head can be brown or beige, however there is a distinctive white spot between the ears.

I spotted this giant squirrel in a tree behind the ranger station in Eravikulam national park.

I felt lucky to see Giant Squirrel so closely may be as a cub. You know that they are very sensitive and shy. Disappears in a flash from site as they locate us.
Thanks Ashish, I just search for giant squirrel on Noah, before you even send this link! That one is very young, no color at all, its hard to believe it grows up into such a colorful animal.

Yes Carolina very adorable, as its very shy mammal. Size almost like cat. Some have Orange and brownish red colours and amazingly shine in sunlight.
